  • The high-voltage switch dynamic characteristic tester cannot be driven normally

    The high-voltage switch dynamic characteristic tester prompts "Output short circuit or excessive load, please shut down and check the control wiring"

    The control wiring error caused a short circuit in the instrument output, which activated the short-circuit protection function. The high-voltage switch dynamic characteristic tester had no output when the control power was turned on or off.

    Solution: After shutting down, refer to the user manual for the first wiring check.

    The excitation coil is overloaded, and the high-voltage switch dynamic characteristic tester cannot be driven normally

    Treatment method:

    1. For the switch of electromagnetic mechanism, the driving current required for the closing coil of the switch is very large (up to 100A or several hundred amperes), and the carrying capacity of the instrument operation power supply is 20A. Causing the high-voltage switch dynamic characteristic tester to malfunction due to excessive load.

    Generally, the closing control line is connected to the closing contactor coil in front of the closing coil, and the instrument control switch contactor is closed. The contactor is used to drive the closing coil of the switch, causing the switch to move. Or use the "external trigger" method to operate the switch to close.

    2. For hydraulic and spring mechanism switches, due to the instrument output current being greater than 6A, it defaults to "overload". Check or measure the resistance value of the closing coil with a multimeter to determine if the current of the closing coil is high.

    Then please carefully check the wiring to confirm that there is no short circuit in the closing output, and then cancel the short circuit protection function of the high-voltage switch dynamic characteristic tester for testing. (Note: After the instrument short-circuit protection function is cancelled, the output of the "on-off control power supply" does not have protection function. If the output of the control power supply is indeed short circuited at this time, it may cause damage to the instrument control power supply! Use with caution)

    The specific method is: turn off → press and hold the button until it is released → turn on the device until the "release button" screen prompts → release the button to cancel the short circuit protection function.

    Attention: As long as the high-voltage switch characteristic tester is turned off or reset, the short-circuit protection function will restart.
