  • Common problems and solutions for circuit breaker testers

    During the on-site closing/opening operation, the switch did not move.

    The wiring of the closing/opening control is incorrect or there is a problem with the control circuit.

    Solution: Find the control wiring diagram of the on-site control cabinet, ask the relevant operators, locate the closing and opening coils and switch auxiliary wiring terminals, and rewire according to Appendix 2 of this manual's control wiring diagram and instructions. Check the control circuit to ensure that it is smooth.

    The instrument displays' output short circuit or overload, please turn off and check the control wiring '

    (1) Control wiring error caused output short circuit, activated short circuit protection function, "closing/opening control power supply" has no output.

    Solution: Turn off the instrument and recheck the wiring according to item 1.

    The excitation coil is overloaded and the instrument cannot be driven normally.

    Solution: For the switch of the electromagnetic mechanism, due to the large driving current required for the closing/opening coil (up to 100A or several hundred A), but the maximum load capacity of the instrument operating power supply is 20A. Overload causes the instrument to fail to drive properly.

    Usually, the closing control line is connected to the upper level closing contactor coil of the closing coil, and the instrument control switch contactor is closed. The closing coil is driven by the contactor to activate the switch. Or use the "external trigger" method to operate the switch to close.

    (2) For switches with hydraulic and spring mechanisms, the instrument defaults to overload when the output current exceeds 6A. Please use a multimeter to check the resistance value of the closing coil and ensure that the current of the closing coil is high. Then carefully check the wiring to confirm that there is no short circuit in the closing output, and then cancel the short circuit protection function for testing. (Note: After canceling the short-circuit protection function, the output of the 'closing/opening control power supply' is not protected. If it is actually an output short circuit in this situation, it will cause damage to the control power supply. Please be aware.)

    The detailed method is: turn off → press and hold the key → turn on until the 'release button' screen prompt appears → release button, cancel the short circuit protection function.
